I am making a show/ series on YT called "Vodka County" I need voice actors for main character Vodka and the background characters if anyone wants to for free Dm me
I have a screenplay that I have submitted to a producer who is keen on the piece. I have already indicated that I intend to play the lead. This, will most certainly be one of many obstacles to getting this over the line. Now, I am a professional actor with plenty of experience but I'm far from being a named actor. I am also naive when it comes to approaching producers hence my question. Is it a good idea to have a few workshopped scenes ( self tape/ rehearsal studio) on the ready should they come back and have reservations on my casting?Or is this amateurish etc?(Let's aaume the acting is good)
I’m planning on finding representation in LA is there any agency’s any of y’all recommend for a actor starting out? Specially for theatrical representation/ commercial
I'm hoping to get some suggestions for a scene from a theater play. The criteria I need to meet is: * 7-10 minute length * 3 male actors (It's ok if a given actor plays more than one character, but there needs to be an obvious point for the role swap). Actors are 20's, 40's and 50's, but it isn't a huge deal if they have to play something outside their age group. * Each actor needs to have significant stage time - that is, the 3rd can't be a single incidental character (them playing multiple characters over the course of the scene is fine) * Public domain or available very inexpensively (educational use only - not for performance) This is for an acting class assignment that requires a 7-10 minute scene with 2 classmates who are both male. I can find scenes, but finding matching length is a challenge and I simply don't have the breadth of play knowledge to pull ideas out of thin air. I was able to find some interesting duologues when it was going to be just me and one other actor, but an additional actor was placed in the mix and now I'm struggling for a fit. This isn't for production use - it will be an in class only thing. I do not, however, mind paying a small fee for a script I know will meet the need. At the moment, my only candidate is a scene from A Midsummer's Night Dream, but we'd like to go with something more modern. Suggestions are appreciated!
Despite being called in to audition for roles , will casting/production not move forward with an actor with no representation who has a good audition?
Would acting be good preparation for this field
Guys this is not an usual question here… but I just want to hear the opinions of my fellow actors and actresses.
Hello actors! I am part of the Cinematic Arts and Production Club at UC Berkeley and I am looking for talent for one of our upcoming short films titled "To Bits". The film is about a med student who is overwhelmed by work, school, relationship, and the failing health of his father to the point where he LITERALLY begins to fall apart. \*This is an unpaid gig that is not for profit (food and snacks will be provided though!). We are a group of passionate filmmakers who would love to work with equally passionate actors from the Bay Area. Please check out our casting call on google forms for more info! tinyurl.com/tobits2022 Feel free to comment any questions!
Hi! I've made a little movie that has a bunch of folks on a bus and I found I needed some people talking lowly in the background to get some "bigger feel" for the universe we're in. I need this ASAP so either male or female. Script below. Supposed to be a Mexican person. FEMALE: Hello father (papa, etc)! I made it, I got into Los Angeles, it's crazy out here. I can't wait to see you and the family again. How much I miss Michoacan (Tijuana, Rosarito, Mexico City, Cuernavaca, one of those cities). Father, so many fake as fuck people here though, lots of money making opportunities though. I got a job doing housekeeping for a rich white family. It pays $250 a week! Anyone can make that out here too. Maybe I'll be an actor too? hahaha. Oh, gotta go, this is my bus stop and I'm going home. Love you so much! MALE: Hello father (papa, etc)! I made it, I got into Los Angeles, it's crazy out here. I can't wait to see you and the family again. How much I miss Michoacan (Tijuana, Rosarito, Mexico City, Cuernavaca, one of those cities). Father, so many fake as fuck people here though, lots of white women with fake ass titties too, but lots of money making opportunities you know? I got a job doing construction. It pays $250 a week! Anyone can make that out here too. Maybe I'll be an actor too? hahaha. Oh, gotta go, this is my bus stop and I'm going home. Love you so much!
Basically the title. On the day I wrapped my two day shoot, an actor friend told me to prepare myself for potentially being cut from the episode. Without giving away too much detail, it’s a small role that adds fluff to the episode but isn’t entirely necessary for the overall plot. I’d maybe get 2-3 minutes of screen time. I guess I’d just realistically like to know how often a cut like this happens. The episode I’m in was also supposed to have aired a few weeks ago but was pushed back to a later aire date, so now my thoughts are really running away with me about re-casts and re-shoots. I’m also still not credited on the IMDb for the episode, although other guest stars are. This was my first legit credit and I was so excited about it. I know this is a reality of this business and I’ve been preparing myself for the worst. It’ll just be a huge bummer.
Use this thread to post your headshots for feedback, get info on your age range/type, find good headshot photographers, ask any questions you may have about headshots. If you are posting a DIY headshot for feedback, and not just a snapshot in order to get feedback on your age range/type/etc, it is advised that you do at least some basic research on what actor headshots look like--composition, framing, lighting. You will find a Google Image search for "actor headshots" to be very helpful for this. Non-professional shots are fine for age/typecasting; please keep in mind that one picture is a difficult way to go about this. Video of you moving and speaking would be ideal, but understandably more difficult to post. For what it's worth, the branding workshop at SAG-AFTRA recommends a five-year age range. That's inclusive, so for example 19-23, 25-29, 34-38, etc.
This voice blows my mind and is such a great choice. I think I bought the phone just because of that voice. It is so insisting, straightforwardly fragile and demanding at the same time. I really need to know who it is. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FT3ODSg1GFE&t=2s](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FT3ODSg1GFE&t=2s) Thanks for your inputs!

Matt Harrigan, writer and voice actor for some adult swim shows, is currently trending #1 on behindthevoiceactors. i checked his profile and he's not in any new stuff, so why is he trending? https://preview.redd.it/ym2r39ktdew91.jpg?width=960&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fe32f7fef16048dbc6e707c03848c529a6b50ce4
I am starting out with acting (and that is what I REALLY would like to do) but I also have an interest in casting. Would it be bad if I were to do both? Is it a conflict of interest if I put myself out there as an actor while also being a casting associate (something more part-time). I currently have minimal involvement in both but I was just curious bc I appreciate the art of both disciplines but would never want to jeopardize my future as an actor.

I’m looking for someplace that runs seminars where actors can get in front of agents and managers. I know ‘pay to play’ situations are a little sketchy, but I’ve found some helpful information from them. I know Actors Connection is legit, but they operate mostly on the east coast. I’d like to meet a manager on the west coast. For context, I’m a Canadian actor who’s looking to get representation in the states. I’ve studied in NYC for a bit, but it’s been 7 years since I’ve lived stateside. I’ve met with some agents who were interested, until they heard I was Canadian. I met a Canadian actor who regularly works both sides of the border, and she advised me to find a manager first.
Hi all! I’ve been encountering a good amount of voice over auditions that aren’t very clear about how they’d like the tape to be recorded. When a film/tv audition doesn’t give specific instructions, I always just default to a simple slate followed by a single take of the sides with an off screen reader, as is standard. Is there a “standard” way of doing a VO self tape? Is it necessary to have a reader? Do you still include a slate? I intuitively figured a WAV or MP3 would be the correct format, but the more that I think about it, with modern smartphones, a video is actually arguably an easier process to record/submit (this is for studio work, not work from home, so actors’ aren’t required to have their own audio equipment). Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated!
