Random Actor Haters by alexanderdamota  •  last post Jan 26th

Anyone else have random Haters from their acting videos? I mostly post gaming content now, along with other things for promotion, but for whatever reason I've attracted haters again off an old audition tape. It reminds me of my bullies in high school who bullied me more after I was a center of attention in drama class from being a main on a dance show. I think it's envy, but it's interesting how every so often there's faceless recent users with no videos writing an insult with a few likes from others. I've learned to ignore them and report. As far as I know they'll eventually get banned which happened to one.

An Observation by dreamer0794  •  last post Jan 26th

Hey all! Super excited to reconnect with my theatre/acting side again. Just some background info: I majored in theatre when I was in university. I got a taste of acting when I was 19 and realized that I sucked BIG TIME when I was 20.

Cloé Unclothed - Lead Role in Pop Music and Multimedia Project by DialupSalesman  •  last post Jan 26th

Hello /r/VoiceActing, I'm an audio engineer and music producer looking for someone to play the lead role in a pop music based project centered around a ultra-rich girl, Cloé Kore, transforming herself into a pop-star. This has heavy NSFW themes being a pop music/pop culture based project and requires someone with a high comfort level who can commit long-term. Auditions are being held on Casting Call Club right now. You can find them *[here](https://www.castingcall.club/projects/paid-cloe-kore-lead-role-in-exciting-pop-music-project)*. **What's this Character Like?** > Good question. I'm glad you asked! > Cloé is a sharp-tongued, educated, authoritative, and bitterly sarcastic old-money millionaire in her early 20's with unshakeable confidence and unforgiving cruelty. She is business minded and always conducts herself in an assertive, driven manner - never allowing herself to show a moment of weakness. She has a lot in common with the [Alpha Bitch Trope](https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/AlphaBitch). **Why cast an actress to play a singer?** >Good question. I'm a lot more focused on getting Cloé's character to come through rather than getting someone who can perform the music on a technical level. She is not necessarily a talented musician, but very confident either way. **Yikes!** > Yeah, I know. **Any Requirements?** > Good question... ... ... > I am requesting you have a high-quality microphone and low noise recording space. Being able to be loud will likely come in handy. USB microphones are not recommended. > I'm looking for someone with some music knowledge or music background. If you can sing alongside melodies and read poetry quickly and rhythmically, that's something we can work with! > 18+ ONLY! NSFW themes and situations. **Is it only music?** > ... ... ...Good question... ... ... > No, we hope to be branching out into other mediums in the future when appropriate, but music will remain at the center of the brand. There are already non-musical vocal performances planned for this project, but not anything necessarily to do with animation right now. > If you're interested in the sound of this project, you can hear an early demo of one of the songs planned for the EP [here](https://soundcloud.com/cloeunclothed/cloe1/s-BxshCqGfvvC). And another [here](https://soundcloud.com/cloeunclothed/cloe-1/s-TiOhm0h1g8d). > (click the link if the Soundcloud embed doesn't work) **Cha-Ching $$$... ?** > Good question again... You're just full of them aren't you? > This is a paid role at $200 per recording session (maximum of 4 hours per session - min $50/hr). I will be working with you directly so we can discuss things about the character and get the right inflections out of each performance. **How are you doing today :) ?** > Enough questions! >You can find more info on the Casting Call Cub page *[here](https://www.castingcall.club/projects/paid-cloe-kore-lead-role-in-exciting-pop-music-project)*. Thank you for checking out my project! I'm super excited to hear all your auditions!

Union work while being non-union by Ukkeliboi  •  last post Jan 26th

Can a non-union voice actor also do union work? Because I know that union actors aren't allowed to do non-union work or something like that but is it different the other way around? I would assume that non-union voice actors would get paid less.

Seeking VAs for Small Animated Production by Nate_Oh_Potato  •  last post Jan 25th

# Introduction I am currently working on a mature cartoon titled **"Intercontinental Drag Racing"**. *(I label it as "mature" simply because of some of the swearing and occasional violence in it, though it's nothing too extreme.)* I am currently looking for voice actors to play the roles of main and side characters in the first episode, which is in production. Because of the minimal (and just about nonexistent) budget, the positions are unpaid, but the main characters will have recurring roles if the show continues. **The synopsis:** In a dystopian future obsessed with drag racing, Rho, an orphan racer from the inner city, strives to win the two billion dollar grand prize from the world’s first Intercontinental Drag Race in order to save his home city from its downfall. Each episode aims to be around 18-22 minutes total, which is a similar length to a lot of other mature cartoons (with the best example being Rick and Morty). Below are the characters being cast for the first episode. Included with each character is a "celebrity actor" choice, which helps to better understand what kind of voice we're looking for. # Characters List **RHO (16-18)**, an orphan racer from the inner city. Full of optimism, constantly battling discrimination and loneliness. Refuses to use deadly weapons during races. Japanese. Male. ***Celebrity actor choice: Ryan Potter.*** **LODA (34-38)**, the leader of the city's gang and head of the drug operation. Holds a grudge against Rho for thwarting the gang's plans on multiple occasions. African American. Female. ***Celebrity actor choice: Taraji P. Henson.*** **SPARKS (18-22)**, the youngest member of the gang. Extremely energetic and over-the-top. Always ready to use his electric weapons to gain the edge in races. Male. ***Celebrity actor choice: Zeno Robinson.*** **HOLT (40-50)**, the oldest and most intimidating member of the gang. Adopted a tough/abusive personality after facing a childhood full of trauma. Will fiercely defend fellow gang members, but will never admit to it. Male. ***Celebrity actor choice: Brad Garrett.*** **BUSINESS MAN (20-40)**. Minimal speaking lines, but quite a few "noise" lines. A simple character but vital to the opening of the episode. **WORRIED ANCHORMAN (30-60)**. Speaking lines in the beginning of the episode. Self-explanatory character. **EAGER NEWS ANCHOR (30-60).** Speaking lines halfway through the episode. Self-explanatory character. **TOUGH GANG MEMBER (22-40)**. Challenges the gang's leadership at the end of the episode. Minimal speaking lines. If you're interested in any of these characters, or would simply love to lend your voice to the project, leave a comment or shoot me a message! Anyone interested in the main characters will be sent a portion of the script to audition with. Thanks for reading through all this mumbo-jumbo! Have an incredible day!

What happens to actors who are the subject of a very significant negative news story early in their acting career? by aandAction  •  last post Jan 25th

Ekaterina Baker has been active for what looks like two years, doing mainly small stuff (although from her [IMDb bio](https://www.imdb.com/name/nm9698063/) she appears to have ambitious aspirations). Curious whether she gets dropped from her agency or is able to find representation/work after this. Any thoughts?

Let's share interviews/press things! Here's one I did recently, woo! by cavenator  •  last post Jan 25th

Like all of us, I've had a rough year in this industry. I only auditioned a handful of times, and I got dropped by two agencies. When I was offered the chance to be interviewed for a blog, I had to say yes! Any other actors do some press recently they'd like to share?! I'd love to read up! SAG-Aftra in a Band by AfterAndroids  •  last post Jan 25th

If I am an actor with a SAG-Aftra membership and I am in a band, do I have to have a waiver or SAG-Aftra participation to be in my own music videos? It might make it a little more complicated, but I'm just wanting to make sure I am not crossing any lines before we start production. I am not a member of AGMA or any other musicians union.

Issues with touch by barfingclouds  •  last post Jan 25th

Hello there, I’m a male new actor, late 20s. I have issues with touch but it’s not from ptsd or sexual abuse or anything. I’m often very uncomfortable with it and don’t know how to do it naturally. I’ve seen in acting classes people spontaneously do stuff like patting someone on the back as they’re walking by. Stuff like that that is normal for people. I don’t know if I can organically do that kind of stuff. I’m also bisexual which gives touch with anyone an extra layer of complexity. Anyways I’d love to hear from others who have maybe had a similar issue as me and what they’ve done about it

Business side of acting: a few questions. HELP! by lexsynia1  •  last post Jan 25th

Hello! Soooo I have a few things I'd like to get more info on from more experienced actors or people from all sides of the biz. Sorry if some of these are difficult to answer! Background: I'm 24F (can play 17-26), Native American (but submits as ethnically ambiguous), 5ft 5in and average build and learning more about my type as I go along. 1- I recently signed with a boutique agent in LA and I'm super excited (my first agent!). I've signed up for a few casting websites and I'm looking at gigs of course but I'm curious what more I can be doing? So I have an agent, when I'm looking to submit, do I tell my agent every time I submit or can I do a "weekly update"? 2- when watching movies/tv, how exactly do you learn from watching someone's performance? What exactly are you looking for and how do you use it? 3- Another Redditr in r/acting talked about having an "aesthetic" as an actor. How do you decide this? Also, how do I brand myself? (2 in 1 question sorry ) 4- THE BIG QUESTION: How does this game work, and how do I play it well? While success is relative, I want it so bad. I want to be here in this industry, I want to do well. I want more than anything to be considered a somebody (hopefully soon) in this industry. What would you say is a key to get there?
