Are there any German or French voice acting communities I could join? I'd like to start voice acting and I have been told I should really try it in English, French and German because I'm good enough to have conversations in English and French and German are my native languages which means I speak them really well. Where should I go for those languages? btw I'd like to voice act for video game mods because I think they lack voice actors and they sound fun to voice act for.
Hey I’m a Bay Area actor who’s looking to form more connections in the LA market before officially moving. I was wondering which studios, classes, or teachers are most talked about or reputed and what they’re known for. On the opposite note which ones should I avoid? I definitely need to develop my overall skills from auditioning, script analysis, character development and so much more and I really want to improve, but I feel I’ve exhausted most of my options in the Bay Area simply due to the quality of teachers and the skills of my peers unfortunately but still want to work on my craft in a meaningful way
My daughter is a SAG -AFTRA member and usually works in the US and Canada. She recently auditioned for an Indian web series that’s being produced for Amazon India, and is selected. The production team / business affairs in India doesn’t know anything about SAG so my question is, can I go and work for them or do I have to apply for any waiver or does Amazon India submit any request here in the US? She definitely wants to do this project but not by going against SAG-AFTRA rules. Any guidance or sharing of experiences is highly appreciated. P.S.: I will be calling SAG in the morning. Just wanted to check with fellow actors here since this may not be a very unique problem.
Through TAFTA in Australia, you can pay $250-400 to meet Casting Directors that promise to teach you skills on how to get noticed and build relationships with them over 5-6 hours. I'm wondering if anyone has done these sorts of events and if they're worth it? The casting directors are legit big names in the industry, but I wonder if they're just phoning it in for the cash and have no interest in the actors applying.
Hello! I was wondering if any of you could expand on these questions? 1. What are some red flags I should look for on a management companies IMDB? 2. What rank would a top management company fall under on IMDB? 3. What are red flags about their clients? 4. Most of their clients have a ranking of 25,000+ is that bad? 5. Many of their clients aren't actors but directors and writers? What does that say? 6. What questions were you asked in your meeting? I would appreciate any insight into how to read management companies. THANK YOU!

Hey everyone, I'm looking for two voice actors for my small project. I'm also looking for a casting assistant, a Caligraphy Artist (Occult symbols / runes), a Test screener / ''beta viewer'' / Reviewer. For those positions you can apply with your portofolio only. If you're interested you can find more information about each position & apply here: [https://www.castingcall.club/projects/voice-actors-needed-youtube-horror-web-series-arg](https://www.castingcall.club/projects/voice-actors-needed-youtube-horror-web-series-arg) **If you're selected, I will always pay you before you start working, so you can be certain you won't be scammed** Voice actors payment: 30 - 50 US dollars / hour worked or 10 - 15 cents per word; Keep in mind this is a small web series so you won't have more than 1 - 2 hours of work per month, at least until the series picks up. I prefer to pay via patreon. You can select ''upfront charge'' and you'll get the money the moment I send them. I'm also open to trying other payment options, but patreon is definitely the best, easiest option **A short description / logline for my story:** * A mentally unstable teenager is left to die in a vast, foreboding forest. Helpless and alone, he decides to team up with an odd, mysterious stranger in order to survive.
I just booked a role where I will be playing my violin, and potentially also mandolin and ukulele. Should I be getting any additional pay as a rental fee for using my personal instruments? Contracts have not been drawn up yet. They're some of the most expensive things I own, and I would hate for them to get damaged, especially since we will be working with community children as fellow actors. I've had my personal clothing and shoes rented from me before, but I don't know what the industry standard is with musical instruments. Is fine if it's not standard practice, I would just love to know either way. Thanks in advance!
Seeking actors and actresses who are able to shed tears in front of a camera. This is a paid gig and production will be done remotely so don’t worry about location, though we are based in Houston if anyone is wondering. If you are interested, simply send an audition tape of yourself looking directly at the camera and crying. Nothing else. Please no introductions or additional comments, as we will not consider any videos that include talking (unless you are talking to yourself). The video should be unedited and include the entirety of your process/buildup, as well as everything that comes after your tears (deep breaths, calming down, whatever you do to gather yourself). Basically, we want to see everything from the moment you press record to the moment you press stop. If you are recording an audition on your phone, please make sure it is in landscape mode (turned horizontally). If you have any questions let me know, otherwise you can send your audition video to the email listed below. P.S. If it takes you a couple attempts to cry, that’s okay! Don’t hit stop. We want to see EVERYTHING. We’re not looking for who can cry quickest or best, we’re just looking for actors we think are interesting. So send us everything. The more embarrassing the better :) loafgren@protonmail.com

I think having them respond to questions about the world around them could be a good idea to turn into some kind of content similar to Ryan Grorge sketch vibes. So go ahead and ask one of my characters some questions and we'll see what happens! Characters (haven't thought about actual names): Mr Old Squire Nerd Always happy Stoner/ hippy style Presenter Politician
In the last few years I've been struggling with a feeling of numbness and apathy, it stays for a while, it goes for a while, and now since I was starting out as an actor (and was doing ok), now this numbness is back and it took a toll in my acting. I cant feel, I can believe in every single thing my character believes and I can imagine the scenary, truly believe in it, I just cant show I just dont feel as excited about the things I should be.
Hi r/acting! I’m an aspiring actor at the age of 17 living in a fairly small city in europe. I took a beginners theatre class from August last year to May this year and I had so much fun. I want to pursue acting and since new projects will be starting any time now I would appreciate some guidance on what I should do. The same place where I took my beginners theatre class has some projects beginning this fall. In order to give anyone that wants to a chance to act they restrict you to one project only. I would love to do as many things as possible and I intend to mention to those in charge my willingness to do even more. However, assuming I only get to do one project I would appreciate some guidance. At that particular theatre school I can either join an improvisation group which may include some show at the end of the semester ( I love improv) or I could be a part of some play with a semester of rehearsals and a few weekends of shows and performances. (I love this too) I’m looking for something that will prepare me for my future in acting, preferably tv acting. I was recently an extra on a show and learned a lot working there. It is important to mention that I have one year left of school and as previously mentioned there are not many options where I currently live. After the school year is finished I have more freedom so to say. I would appreciate any opinions and feedback and I apoligise for the long read as well as any grammar mistakes as English is not my first language.
Hi folks, So I've been doing audiobooks and other voiceacting for over a year now and voicescloud just contacted me on LinkedIn. They say they're increasing their roster and want me to join. I'm trying to find an agent at the moment, and worry that voicescloud is maybe some kind of fiverr type thing devaluing voice actors? Not keen, but curious for the thoughts of those more experienced. Thanks for reading!
Hey all I was encourage to apply for unemployment as an out of work actor, between supplementing freelance work, but I'm getting confused with application the process since acting income doesn't operate the same way other jobs do. My last acting job was in October 2021, a 1 day co star. Aside from that I've receive residual income from several past acting jobs. The application is asking me to specify my start and end work dates for these various payroll companies (Cast and Crew, Entertainment Partner, NBC Universal, etc) and I'm at a loss for what to put. They all ask to name an immediate supervisor and I'm unsure who to list for that as well. Has anyone else gone through this process that could offer some advice?? I've put this off for months now because every time I look at it I get overwhelmed.
PLEASE bare with me. I have 2 questions here. 1) As I’ve posted before, I’m with a boutique agency, with agents that are really cool and we connected well when i signed last November. However, they don’t really seem to care about me? I asked if there’s anything I can do to increase auditions, they said no everything in my package is great. I have not gotten a ***single*** co-star or guest-star audition this whole year. Just commercials, short films, etc. (that I can get on my own). I recently got my first vaccination this month as my agents were not pushy & believed it’s a personal decision. They told me to wait until Sept 30 to see if SAG removes the mandates. Im just concerned that if I DO continue to wait, and the Covid requirements don’t change, Episodic season will be almost over. 1b) Now, there is an agency I’d LOVE to join, that has actors working a bunch in my age/type range, and no one that looks exactly like me. Only thing is, they are a top mid-level agency, and I’m sure I have to be fully vaccinated & co-stars on my resume. But I have a friend in acting class who is signed with them, and has no credits. I really hate to toot my own horn, but I am a talented actor, I am good looking, I have dance & singing experience, etc and don’t feel like my agency really thinks of me as a priority enough to force me to be vaccinated earlier. (I liked to think they care about health/personal decisions, but now I’m just wondering if I’m not a priority enough) 2) Are other agencies like AEFH, CESD, Greene, etc. prioritized by casting when actors are submitted to roles?
I'm casting for my second project and have worked with a lot of different actors. A lot of creators, Tim Burton being one example, use the same actors over and over. How does this go for the online voice acting community? Is it disrespectful if I cast a few of the actors I've already worked with? I want to give everyone a chance but there are a few actors I really resonate with and want to work with again. How does this go? TLDR; Is it disrespectful to cast the same voice actors in multiple of your projects?
Hi, I've came here to ask a question for actors who have been in productions, is it scary? I really want to act and be in shows/movies/musicals but I'm scared of people sexualizing, and making fun of me. I get really bad anxiety when the thought of doing it comes up. but I really want to since its been an interest of mine for a while. So is it scary to you? (Also the production I've been looking at is a musical so do you have any tips?)
I'm looking for a Latino voice actor to voice a Villain for a story/project I'm currently working on. If interested, email me Sbj.tv@yahoo.com Thank you Paid $100
