Looking for four actors for a no-budget, non-profit film shoot the morning of February 23rd in the city. Male caucasian 20s/30s, if you own a pinstripe suit step to the front of the line. You're a customer ordering breakfast at a restaurant but the two waitresses are giving you a hard time. Female caucasian 20s: an angry waitress who seems to have little patience for a customer who wants his breakfast the way he wants it. Female caucasian 40s/50s: a pleasant waitress who wants to make her customer happy without giving in to his demands. Male, any ethnicity, 40s-60s: the head chef of a restaurant. Suspicious but accommodating, by-the-books. Send me a DM if you're interested and I'll send you the 3-page script. No pay, yes credit/reel, yes breakfast, location is a restaurant at Western & Chicago. Start time TBD, around 9am, go until 1:30pm. Audition via video is fine. So i just started auditioning for student films, web series, commercials etc. Freelance, no agency, green, last training was probably drama class in grade school. I just got booked a webseries, a commercial and a student film. All these are happening so fast and shit . For webseries is $200 for 12 hours an average amount? Could someone let me in on what's too little and what's alright? Do negotiations happen for actors? If so how to do it professionally? Also the student film has a sex scene. I'm being professional by dissociating myself and just focus on the character but it's so nerve wrecking and using this as an opportunity to fix my intimacy issues. But any advice on how to get through this/ precautions/what to discuss with the other actor? How do sex scenes work? Is it planned or do people just go for it?
Award winning Producer/Director looking for both Actor/Actress ages 25-35 for a feature film shot in North Jersey. 2 day shoot. Minimum locations. Will pay, let's discuss. NON\_UNION
Context: I do a lot of extra work and submit for auditions constantly. I found an amazing new acting class but realized I can’t afford it right now. What’s something I could do for free that could help me get experience?
Just curious what made you decide to become Voice actor/actress? What did you find most difficult about jumping in? (Equipment/Mic/acoustic sound proof walls?) What was your first big opportunity and how long did it take you to get there? Is the future of VA expanding with all the audio book stuff, I think I saw one lady did audio books and then she got an opportunity with warframe! thanks so much for taking your time to answer
I'm a young (early 20s) actress getting started in acting with indie film. Don't get me wrong, I'm finding good projects and booking things, I'm just really frustrated because it feels like > 50% of the roles I qualify for involve some kind of nudity, full or at least topless. I'll so often read a project plot summary and get excited only to find out all the female characters involve nudity. Oftentimes it's not even a sex scene, they just want a boob-shot. Am I the only one who gets annoyed by this? It sometimes feels like these indie writers are incapable of writing a female character if she doesn't contribute boobs to the film. Idk. I'm not completely against the idea of appearing nude in a film, but it wouldn't be unpaid and on an indie set where I have no way of knowing the directors or the set environment. Again there are definitely good indie projects out there. It just seems a little ridiculous the proportion that involve nudity. And almost none of them involve male nudity! -\_- Ok. Rant done. Please let me know if you experience the same thing!
Hi, I had plans to move to LA, but I’m thinking that I’d rather be in NYC. Part of it is to be closer to my parents who are getting older and having more health problems. Also, I just think NYC is more my vibe and driving in big cities (like I’ll have to do in LA) gives me INSANE anxiety. I like theater and will do theater, but it’s not my main dream. I want to do TV or film. I’ve heard that you gotta go to LA for TV/Film and NY for theater, but I’ve also heard stories about actors in NYC getting roles in Netflix series and some of my favorite film actors/influences (like Timothée Chalamet) are/were NY-based when they got their big breaks. Since I’m Boston-based now I feel like getting an agent before making the move to NYC will be doable whereas I’ll have trouble getting an agent in LA before moving there? I would love to hear your experiences/thoughts!
I'm a non union actress primarily working in theatre. I have recently branched out to commercials and recently booked a union job through a casting agency. For most of my film jobs thus far I've booked through agencies or with well known companies, so the rates were good/standard and I didn't question them. Today, I was contacted by a local (tristate) business about a social media commercial they are shooting. The shoot is 2 days and both days are slated to be under 6 hours. Thing is, they didn't tell me the rate, but instead asked me what my daily rate is. This is the first time I've been in the position to negotiate my own rate, and I have no idea what a fair non union daily rate would be. Any ideas? Are there any questions I should ask concerning usage, etc.?
Hi guys! So I’m a perfect match for MAC NC35, a neutral cool light medium with golden undertones. I need to buy a Ben Nye creme foundation and I vaguely remember the last time I used it I was an almost perfect match for a “medium” shade but I can’t seem to remember, and I’m on the website now and there are so many damn options I have no idea what to pick at this point. Does anyone know how I can figure this out? The nearest store that sells BN near me is about a 40 minute drive so I’d prefer to order it online if I can. Edit: Ben Nye has always been the standard for stage makeup so I figured I’d post this here, assuming that actors would be well versed in stage makeup.
Use this thread to post your headshots for feedback, get info on your age range/type, find good headshot photographers, ask any questions you may have about headshots. If you are posting a DIY headshot for feedback, and not just a snapshot in order to get feedback on your age range/type/etc, it is advised that you do at least some basic research on what actor headshots look like--composition, framing, lighting. You will find a Google Image search for "actor headshots" to be very helpful for this. Non-professional shots are fine for age/typecasting; please keep in mind that one picture is a difficult way to go about this. Video of you moving and speaking would be ideal, but understandably more difficult to post. For what it's worth, the branding workshop at SAG-AFTRA recommends a five-year age range. That's inclusive, so for example 19-23, 25-29, 34-38, etc.
Hi. I'm a very young dentist, who recently decided to completely change professions. I moved out to Hollywood and I am trying to pursue my dreams of acting. I always wanted to try acting, but never had the opportunity to take any drama or theater classes since I had to spend all my time focusing on medical-related courses. I have no friends nor family with any experience in acting, and I am struggling to find others in exactly the same situation as me. I have seen groups dedicated to veterans, previous business workers, even lawyers, who changed professions and now act, but I have not been able to find any groups consisting of doctors turned actors. I am reaching out to try and find other doctors who are in a similar situation like me. If you are a young physician or dentist like myself who is in the entertainment industry, please message me. I would love to have someone to talk to who understands exactly where I'm coming from. Best!
Hey Actors looking for an actor or just a person aged 18-25(not hard requirement), male/female You are: Fun, outgoing, entertaining and talkative and can ‘perform’ in unpredictable environment. Open certain degree of risk. Very likeable. Have any experience with live streaming, vlogging or at least have general knowledge about it. Action could be anything like but not limited to going to landmarks, tasting foods, talking to people. Not acceptable request would be anything that could be treated violent, abusive, nude, etc or anything you would not be happy doing. Drop me an email at Alex (at) [oQQur.com](https://oQQur.com) In your reply: Quick message about yourself, who are you, what you like doing and why you would be good fit. Also mention what are the extreme things you would do, and things you would not. A huge plus would be a short video you talking through this. Location: we don’t much care where in the world are you, but it still would depend on good phone connectivity, and access to equipment rental. What happens next: Promising candidates would receive an invitation for call with video. Aimed event date end of February.
I don't mean to exaggerate but I feel that even B movie actors have more freedom and integrity. You see, the biggest tradeoff is your identity. If you're going to work for Disney, **you better be all about Disney.** Like you need to be your character and fit into Disney Culture. Im particularly talking about Disney Channel sitcoms but would also include family films and Disney World/Land itself as well. I know LA and the Disney people are just so f\*cking limited. Even if you managed to get invited to one of these parties over at the hills or some swanky event in Santa Monica, it would be best for you not to go. Why? Because Disney doesn't approve of that. It doesn't fit into their image if you are seen drinking and hanging out with a non-Disney crowd. Nothing is going to blow up overnight but you see the thing is that you must be professional 24/7. You need to BE your f\*cking character. I don't want to name names but I've been to an event recently where one girl who used to do a Disney Channel show back in the mid 00s and she told me she went to an event in this one guy's house in Beverly Hills and one of the other guests was an associate producer from another Disney show and after recognizing her at the party, he started getting nervous because some press people were there and if they caught her, it would look bad on herself and the show. Now, I know this applies also to Nickelodeon and many other types of programs, but it is really this particular type of the business that just aggravates me.
Actors and Actresses , Can you send over some character shot examples . That'd help so much. Thank you.
Hi everyone, I love watching youtube, and I thought I'd give a good suggestion to you guys if anyone is looking for actors that post content on youtube, about acting. I recommend Katherine Steele, Audrey Hope, Asia Jackson, Daniella Perkins, Lizzie Greene, and Sadie Stanley. If you guys know of anyone else, please comment! I'm always looking for more to watch.
Hello everyone, I literally just made this account about 30 mins ago but I have been checking this subreddit for a while to learn about the acting industry and tips on starting off as an actor. I'll just briefly introduce myself: I am 17/F and obviously I want to become an actress. So here's my question for you all: Becoming an actress is my biggest dream, so I take it very seriously. In fact, so seriously that I'm pretty conscious about the things I post on my Instagram profile. I don't post pictures of myself wearing skimpy and revealing clothes, even clothes that show the slightest bit of midriff or bra straps. It's because I'm worried that directors or crews who would check my Instagram would think they're inappropriate or something like that, thus possibly ruining my chances of getting roles and making connections. I just don't want people to get a wrong impression of me, but am I just overthinking? Thank you for reading! And if you leave an answer, thanks for answering!
