Hello, looking for someone to help me with a small project. I need someone to read a quick 1-2 minute thing for me. I've never used this subreddit before, and don't know the prices, but we can discuss that! Please message me. Looking specifically for a male voice, preferably someone that can do a NY accent, British accent, but not required. I would also like to hear some samples. Thanks! Looking forward to hearing from some people soon.
Hi! As said by the title, I was wondering if anyone can be a voice actor. I want to try voice acting because of my love of videogames (League, Overwatch, Atelier, etc.) and I always really adored the voice acting in them. I think I don't have a great voice though.
If you haven't heard of him, he has done so much and helped so many, his 'audition ready online course' is so, so helpful to voice actors who want to understand their tech and not feel overwhelmed about eq, compression, mixing- the lot, and have their audio to a professional standard. I found his video on EQ and was hooked immediately. He helped me set up my audio chain and it made such a world of difference. He is one of the most respected audio guys in the industry and lives to help others. Anyway here is the link to the fundraiser if you are able to donate. Here is the EQ video that made me seek out this wonderful teacher. https://youtu.be/ltKUTjjESeQ Here is go fund me link https://www.gofundme.com/f/2c35trp8uo?member=9948558&sharetype=teams&utm_campaign=p_na+share-sheet&utm_medium=copy_link&utm_source=customer Thanks guys.
As an aspiring should you have social media? I deleted all my social media about a year ago and haven't been on since. I just want to know if its a must have for a aspiring actor?
For those who are unfamiliar..[https://corp.castingnetworks.com/la/concierge/](https://corp.castingnetworks.com/la/concierge/) I'm not looking for information about this service..I'm just wondering where they get the ever-fucking audacity to ask actors for \*$150 A MONTH\* for this bullshit...

I'm a screenwriter, and I'm gonna get the chance to show my contact at CAA what I can do. So I'm dusting off an old project that I think is pretty funny. The thing is, I don't want him to actually have to read it or do any of that hard imagination stuff. So I'm cobbling together an epic pandemic-safe, remotely recorded table read so that this guy can just lazy his way through the story while he's in traffic. "But Brian, why do I care if you get to pitch your stupid thing? What's in it for me? Great question. I can't offer you money or fame. Because you'll be working remotely from home, I won't even be providing the normal stuff like a bathroom. That said, this is a business of relationships, and I'm trying to put a team of funny people who can get projects rolling. If you think the script is funny, then you may as well submit your take, if for no other reason than to sharpen your comedy chops. You'll get a copy of the final cut of the audio when we're done, and you'll finally get to add some VO work to your resume. Also, I'll get you in and out in two hours, and we'll be recording remotely so you can do the whole thing in your pajamas. Here's the show: A fraudulent banker is forced to atone for his crimes when a foreclosed property comes back to \*\*haunt\*\* him. You can find the roles and sides \[here\]([https://talent.lacasting.com/DirectCast/ViewRole.aspx?crypt=gkpolhaoieooccndmfojfbgdgnmaieelfldd&fbclid=IwAR2vyhngcHns7eHIDcDHOzNsnmkeW3\_sxruTmR\_-UHPNvzowf4hfhvJcaEw](https://talent.lacasting.com/DirectCast/ViewRole.aspx?crypt=gkpolhaoieooccndmfojfbgdgnmaieelfldd&fbclid=IwAR2vyhngcHns7eHIDcDHOzNsnmkeW3_sxruTmR_-UHPNvzowf4hfhvJcaEw)). \[Sides for Mike\]([https://drive.google.com/file/d/1HXoASB2CWRUy\_Pg1ytdcH6gCIpmIBomO/view?usp=sharing](https://drive.google.com/file/d/1HXoASB2CWRUy_Pg1ytdcH6gCIpmIBomO/view?usp=sharing)) \[Sides for Shea\]([https://drive.google.com/file/d/1gyV91YcNcWDbB6w2hjsvb8ch6Iu0qPIB/view?usp=sharing](https://drive.google.com/file/d/1gyV91YcNcWDbB6w2hjsvb8ch6Iu0qPIB/view?usp=sharing)) \[Sides for Harvey\]([https://drive.google.com/file/d/1myaZprBSsi7hwmkxWl0okKW2umDEIDcw/view?usp=sharing](https://drive.google.com/file/d/1myaZprBSsi7hwmkxWl0okKW2umDEIDcw/view?usp=sharing)) \[Sides for Malaxor\]([https://drive.google.com/file/d/1YSlS0sShM0NaSvY\_5FjU17hAdVnxv2mL/view?usp=sharing](https://drive.google.com/file/d/1YSlS0sShM0NaSvY_5FjU17hAdVnxv2mL/view?usp=sharing)) If you're down to submit, just send an audio file (preferably mp3 please!) to repossessedpreviz@gmail.com. I'm just wondering if there's anything specific beyond the usual travel documents, or if there's a specific visa involved, etc. Most of my search results have been about international actors coming to the US so I thought I'd ask where I might find that info. Thanks!
**NOTE: Link to download the app from the Google Play Store is in the comments!** If you're an actor worth your salt then you should already be intimately familiar with the idea of attaching *verbs / intentions* to your beats, or in other words **how you are going to get what you want** from your scene partner(s). This app serves as a reference to help you make stronger choices for your verbs and should be used as a complement to your scene analysis. The app features 300+ verbs and all are categorized by their general intent (loving, manipulative, etc). There are books which serve the same general purpose (e.g. *Actions The Actors' Thesaurus*), but the best part about this app is that it's totally **free**! There is a small ad at the bottom but it is non-intrusive. Let me know what you all think, I welcome all feedback!
I am a writer, and I am struggling to imagine a sound of voice for a particular main character. I thought I would hire a voice actor to read a few lines so I can get a better audio picture of him. However, I don’t know much about the business side of voice acting. I don’t want to cheat anyone, but I am TERRIBLE at business/pricing. How much would be a good amount to offer a voice actor for a few lines? Thanks!
Bizparentz, a long standing nonprofit dedicated to helping youth in the entertainment industry, has revamped their entire website and it is a wealth of information. Might I suggest the "How to Avoid Scams" page as a starting point!!! [https://www.bizparentz.org/new-to-the-biz/safety-and-scams/](https://www.bizparentz.org/new-to-the-biz/safety-and-scams/)
So I'm an Indian guy, still a freshman. I want to be an actor, I'm going to Drama, and I'm gonna continue to try to pursue acting as a career. My parents are typical indian parents: they want me to study even if I am pursuing acting. I'm 15, and I have a goal of submitting self tapes when I'm around 16-16 and a half. My parents say that even if I land a role, I gotta finish school, college and all. Their ideology is that I need to have a "backup" plan just in case acting doesn't working in the long term. They said that even if I become an actor, I'm gonna have a hard time landing a lot of roles. Not in terms of skill, but because of my race. To some point, I agree with them. You don't see many Indians landing too many "niche" roles in the Movie industry. Y'know, like action movies, comedy, sci-fi, etc. I just don't know what to do. I want to keep going forward with my goal, but my parents are right, to some extent. Any advice would be much appreciated, and thanks for taking the time to read all of this.
Hi everyone, Apologies if there's anything wrong with this post, as this is my first time posting something here. If there is, please let me know. This is a casting call for a short virtual, recorded Zoom performance called "Where the Light Gets In." It is a student-written and directed piece for an Introduction to Directing class project at the Claremont Colleges. Rehearsals will be once a week until the end of April. The performance will be in the first week of May. Sides can be found here: [https://docs.google.com/.../1pKaiXzAEU58i7drcIKXE.../edit...](https://docs.google.com/document/d/1pKaiXzAEU58i7drcIKXEtdgkRu7tvqHOrD6VZa9tO1E/edit?usp=sharing&fbclid=IwAR1F1yEEorCBpCw2_cbXTQDwptWfZ2bc0JL4bOAgodKz-URM9RScJlp5PAw).No need to be memorized. Please send a video of your audition by 10 pm PDT Tuesday (4.13.2021) to [cfoster5539@scrippscollege.edu](mailto:cfoster5539@scrippscollege.edu) and submit this form ([https://forms.gle/WGZp6R6CpPMo2EYi7](https://forms.gle/WGZp6R6CpPMo2EYi7?fbclid=IwAR1R-Ht-2-ZWb0Gi-gJpGdxvETjJyEV9BZMbR3BpVTesVb317NayOEgQ-dk)). We will get back to you by Thursday (4.15.2021), and rehearsals should start by the week of 4.19.2021. Synopsis: The play centers on a woman in college and her relationship with her dad as she deals with lupus and other health complications. It opens with the two FaceTiming each other and her struggling to get out of bed. Character descriptions: Ella: (age: 18-30) a woman with lupus in her last semester of college. She loves music and has recently been told some terrible news. **Actors with similar lived experiences to Ella are highly encouraged to audition.** Robert: (age: 40 to late 60s) father to Ella. A light-hearted character who struggles with not being able to help his daughter while she is away at college. These are both paid roles, although I sincerely apologize because I am not exactly sure what the rate is yet. I hope to update this post tomorrow with that information. Please let me know if you have any questions.
Similar to [r/PraiseTheCameraMan](https://www.reddit.com/r/PraiseTheCameraMan/), a subreddit dedicated to showing great craftsmanship i've put together: [r/praisetheactor](https://www.reddit.com/r/praisetheactor/) I want to get this sub active asap, so feel free to post clips! Hi, I need your advice: which accent should I learn as a non-native English speaking actress? British or American and which one specifically? I've found info about the Transatlantic accent but I am not sure if it's not too old or not used anymore in film acting. My goal is to have as many opportunities in international productions as possible and to sound as a native English speaker. My English is fluent and advanced so I just have to focus on the accent. Has anyone had a similar dilemma? How did you solve it? How did you practice it?
So the whole goal with acting is to make what you’re saying seem natural right. What if you have a script that is terrible? Should a good actor still make the lines seem natural? Or are some scripts just so unnatural that even a good actor wouldn’t be able to make them sound good? I’d love to hear any thoughts.
